I have a deep effection for Mathew and all he'd been through as a boy then as a really terrific "crowd pleasing" fighter!! He had it tuff all through his life and even as Champion it wasn't easy.
On the other side stands a man few people ever talk about on here and he was a "true warrior" mentality all through his career......Yaqui Lopez!!!
Yaqui was a fighter you had to prepare for deligently or you'd get your butt handed to you. You could win the fight over Yaqui and still be beat up!
When I think of the best competitors in the history of boxing I think of two "Indios" Mexicans LtHvy Yaqui Lopez and WW Gaspar "el Indio" Ortega!!
These two men are what boxing is all about! Fought EVERYONE!!! The very best were defeated by these men and they lost to the best too! Their era was a terrific time in boxing when the top contenders would fight each other 3 fights in a row, all the time!!! Today its a big deal to fight a "trilogy" then they did it all the time!! Terrific men all 3 of those fighters, you always got your moneys worth with Saad, Gaspar and Yaqui top pros!! Ray.
