    Mouth watering fights there.

The 60's and 70's are probably my 2 favourite era's.

Hard to pick some of the winners there but I'd pick Liston, Monzon, Foster and Duran to win their fights.

    Jofre-Olivares would be great.

Those are some very appealing matchups. I agree with most of your picks.

Good question Jon. Like it. I did my answers before reading anyone else's. I'll compare after. You should tally up the votes so far......

Heavyweight: Sonny Liston (1962) v Joe Frazier (1972)
I know Foreman is a bigger hitter than Liston but Sonny still one of the biggest punchers in Heavyweight history. If a 1973 Joe could get destroyed then so can a 1972 version.

          Light-Heavyweight: Harold Johnson (1962) v Bob Foster (1972)
Depends which Johnson turns up. He either gets kayoed quickly or boxes his way to a loss. Either way, it's Fosters.

Middleweight: Paul Pender (1962) v Carlos Monzon (1972)
Pender was a much better man than Monzon but that ain't going to help him in the ring.

Welterweight: Emile Griffith (1962) v Jose Napoles (1972)
Funny thing about this fight, there's only a two year age difference. The edge has to go with Mantequilla but maybe the pre Paret Griffith can do it. If the bout is before Benny's death I'm going with a draw

          Junior-Welterweight: Duilio Loi (1962) v Antonio Cervantes (1972)
The clue in this fight is Locche. Cervantes totally outclassed 1st bout then wins on a cut 2nd. Loi at the end of his career & I think he'll have too many tricks for the still fairly young Pambelé.

Lightweight: Carlos Ortiz (1962) v Roberto Duran (1972)
Ortiz good. Very very good. But Duran walks right through him.

Featherweight: Davey Moore (1962) v Clemente Sanchez (1972)
Sanchez yough but limited. Moore UD.

Bantamweight: Eder Jofre (1962) v Ruben Olivares (1972)
I love Ruben but Jofre is an all time elite fighter. He wins 99/100.

Flyweight: Fighting Harada (1962) v Erbito Salavarria (1972)[/QUOTE]
Never heard of Salavarria but Harada one of Asia's top five fighters & he wins easy.
