Brilliant work Barnburner, and it just shows what a freak Darcy was, the way he gets to his opponents flank, his feet and hands were like lightning. You have managed to show him against really good fighters, McGoorty, Clabby, KO Brown, George Chip (how about those back-fists) and Dave Smith are all in there. Mostimportantly, you have the McGoorty knockdowns all in there showing his devastating power in what is one of the most brutal hidings ever caught on film......... now, what are your thoughts on Darcy's ATG ranking ???

Never, well it just goes to show how important Barnburner is around here..... I'd be interested to hear your initial impression of Darcy,...... a first time view of a legend.

I've got to go for Les by decision, I think Les showed in his fights with Chip he liked fighting and countering come forward fighters who didn't have a great deal of skill for top level fighters. The only person Graziano faced with a better skillset than Darcy was Robinson, and we all know what happened.. Graziano as you say is always ready for a KO but, then again Les could easily do the same. Bad style match up for Graziano I think.

Yep,... can't argue..... which other MW champions will find Darcy too much of a handful to be matched up with him..... I don't think crude brawlers will do any good against him... I think they simply run into a hailstorm,... and Darcy's reach and blacksmith arms were so devastating, not the sort of fighter to meet without a great set of skills and an Iron chin... I think Robinson finds a way to a decision, but even he doesn't knock him out, Darcy also has great defensive skills,.... Eddie McGoorty said that all he could usually hit was Darcy's elbows,.... he had arms like a Gorilla as Alex Costica said..... If Darcy had poor defence,.. even he would have been knocked down eventually,... the fact is,,, Darcy was hard to hit, and he was always quicker than his opponent,,,,, He was incredibly young, but that also gave him great advantages. It really does not come as a surprise that a teenager would be very nippy and be as energetic as Darcy was... I remember how fast and a jack-in-the-box TYSON was at 21,.... and the speed of that other tragic youngster was namely the Great Pancho Villa,.... now how fast was that kid,..????.... a dead set certainty as an ATG....... From what I see watching him blow away Jimmy Wilde,.... there was never a quicker puncher than Villa,.....
