It seems as though after the Douglas fight Mike seemed to want nothing to do with Larry and it was rumored that his dislike for Merchant was a big reason why he had left HBO back in '91. What did he do that pissed him off so much?

Larry called it like he saw it and was willing to verbally challenge Tyson.
Tyson wanted nothing to do with that, because he was immature and insecure. -
I think it had more to do with King trying to get the Buster/Tyson decision overturned which prompted Merchant to start upping his criticism of King’s methods. Don eventually tried to have him fired, but instead HBO held onto Larry and dropped Mike.Originally posted by fitefanSHO View Post
