Anybody remember this guy? He was a good puncher and exciting brawler, his fights with then-WBA SMW champion Christophe Tiozzo was an underated classic. He stopped Tiozzo in the 9th after a back and forth war. Also stopped undefeated Vincenzo Nardiello in 11 rounds and then lost the title to Michael Nunn in a very close fight. I think its possible that he really won that first fight, Cordoba. I've seen it and thought he won at least half the rounds.
He's a good example of a boxer who started from total obscurity (his first 4 fights were 3 draws and 1 loss) and then got a chance out of the blue and took full advantage of it, dethroning the massive favorite and champion. Christophe Tiozzo was very highly rated at the time and he beat In Chul Baek for the title, was 28-0 also.
