    Jose Becerra

IMO Jose Becerra was one of the best Bantams ever but was over shadowed for being in the same era as Sugar Ray.

"Becerra was a talented boxer who moved well, had "savvy" and hit effectively; He lost only five bouts in 79 contests and scored 43 knockouts; During his career, he won the Bantamweight Championship of the World

He defeated such men as Alphonse Halimi, Mario D'Agata, Billy Pea****, Dwight Hawkins, Jose Medel, Miguel Lazu, Raul Perez, German Ohm Gomez and Jorge Valverde Gomez

Herb Goldman ranked Becerra as the #19 All-Time Bantamweight."

I don't know much about him but I've always wanted to see more of him, he really is a forgotten fighter nowadays but he has an exceptional and criminally overlooked legacy. I would love to see his trilogy with a young Jose Medel or his full fight with Halimi (which I have scoured the internet for). In regards to the clip I found it interesting that he outslugged a fighter who was renowned for his in-fighting ability and strength (and if you've seen pictures of Halimi up close you'd know why, he was a very muscular fighter for that division along the lines of Alfonso Zamora or a Venice Borkorshor a division below). I do remember reading and seeing a picture of Beccera after that fight holding up a check for 20,000 dollars, smiling with an abbrasion under his eye, nothing really important just a memory I had of reading of him.
