    Hatton vs Cotto

Why did this first never happen while Cotto was at 140? I wasn't into boxing back then. But I know Mayweather fought Hatton instead of Cotto because Hatton was less risk, more reward. But I think it would have been more impressive if Floyd took Cotto's 0 or at least tried too.

But who do you think would have won that fight at 140 & why didn't it happen?

I think it would have been an fn war prime for prime, but Cotto stop hims eventually IMO.

i have always said cotto wins at 140 people always argue hattons best weight he wins, hattons overated on one kos tsysu performance ,that all he did was wear a old man down who doesnt move too well when did hatton put in another great perfomance after that even though cotto could be hurt at 140 he would always come back cotto was a class above hatton with his skills, two pressure fighters up against each other cotto wins he hits harder boxes better and can adapt the better of the two

Cotto was pretty chinny at 140, and his stamina has never been great. Depends how well Hatton takes body punches. If he doesn't slow down mid rounds, he could start beating Cotto up. Also depends on how much holding the ref lets Hatton get away with...

Prime hatton would have beaten a 140 pound cotto, stopping him late

I think the reverse would happen at 147

"prime" hatton? when, exactly, was hatton in his prime? before the Kostya Tszyu fight? as he stepped into the ring with kostya tszyu that night? between the tszyu and collazo fights? after that gift decision he got against collazo and before stepping in the ring with mayweather?

they say he did not represent himself well in his trips to 147 but he fought two excellent fighters in collazo and mayweather so i'm not going to discredit anything he's done at any weight but cotto beats him at either 140 or 147.

with more single punch power, better combinations, boxing ability, timing ability, more fluid body attack, strong as heck at 140 AND came in at welter/ junior middle weights some fights. cotto would hold every advantage but wrestling ability.

if i recall correctly, before Kostya Tszyu quit on his stool, he was ahead on the cards in what was basically hatton's backyard. hatton should be grateful to be knocked out by the very best. he barely escaped Juan Lazcano.

I'd give Cotto the edge boxing wise but Hatton have a strong punchers chance especially late in the fight. It would have been a good one though.

Tszyu was behind on all cards, and it was only getting worse.

oh. i guess i need to find my way to **********. that aside, cotto still outclasses him, head to head.

Tszyu out classed him too...didn't stop him from winning. Like I said, depends on what the ref lets him get away with. The Tszyu fight was a shameless reffing job.

Probably because Cotto was a protected young prospect at the time and his managers decided that he wasn't ready to fight an elite opponent.

I'm not sure who would win if they fought each other. Hatton was way more proven and had a much better resume at 140 though.
