Prime Reggie Johnson & Tim Littles > Over the hill Holyfield.

Toney has the better wins. Tyson stayed consistent in his prime, fought more quality fights over all, and generally looked more impressive.

Hard to call. Toney fought most of his career out of shape...doesn't help him much. I'd say his potential was greater, his follow through not so much. That said, he definitely stayed relevant a hell of a lot longer than Tyson did.

Yeah Holyfield was past prime as well, but good enough to beat Tyson twice. Holmes on the other hand lost his last two pro fights, had been inactive for 2 years and took the fight at 5 weeks notice.

Erm Toney fought holyfield 6 years after Tyson did. Holyfield has also just lost to Byrd and had a loss and draw against Ruiz. The holyfield that toney fought was much more out of his prime than the on tyson fought, maybe even than the holmes tyson fought.

Holyfield fell off pretty hard after the Lewis rematch. Then somehow nearly a decade later he takes Valuev to school...shocking.

              Thanks for correcting me
But its still a good win for a guy who made his pre debut at 160 and had 0 fights at hw.

I know a lot of people like to knock Tyson's legacy, but winning the heavyweight championship at 20 was an incredible accomplishment that won't be repeated for a long time if ever. He also unified the heavyweight championship (rare today) and didn't duck anybody. But based on longevity and overall achievements I have to give the nod to Toney. Beating the highly rated Nunn at 160, the brilliance at 168, and the cruiserweight win over the highly talented vasali Jirov are big accomplishments. The knock on Toney has been his inconsistency at times and of course overall conditioning. Unfortunately for him his win over heavyweight Ruiz is tarnished but it can't be completely overlooked.
