Could Bob Foster KO Jake Lamotta at 175lb?

Lets say the iron chinned Jake Lamotta at his peak and trained steps up and fights a peak Bob Foster at 175lb.

Can Foster KO Him?

And when I say KO. I mean out cold etc See Tiger vs Foster.

In his prime devasting punches ray robinson and bob satterfield couldnt do it! so i think foster would struggle to put a dent in jake's cast iron chin

Im going to go against popular opinion and say yes, Foster could stop LaMotta at 175. Lamotta was stopped by Danny Nardico at 175. Before anyone goes getting in a twist about Jake being past it lets remamber only six months or so before he beat contenders Bob Murphy and Eugene Hairston. We also need to take into account the huge advantages Foster would have in height and reach. Jakes chin is one of the best of all time, but so was **** Tigers chin and Foster nearly decapitated him. As great as LaMotta was he was never hit by a man like Bob Foster who many consider to be the hardes puncher ever at 175 or below.

LaMotta at 5'8" would not only have to get inside, but stay inside of Foster's range finder to avoid getting KO'd and I can't see him being able to do this for 15 rounds.. If a PP Tiger lasted 4 rounds, a prime LaMotta may hang in there for 8..

He could stop the aging LaMotta who fought Murphy and Nardico at light heavyweight. A 168 lb prime Jake? Foster could be the greatest test LaMotta's chin ever faced, but then again an old Henry Hank went rounds with a prime Foster. If Foster does stop LaMotta, it would likely be with LaMotta still on his feet, much like Hank was.

Tiger got hit with the perfect punch really, and let's not forget that he was in his late 30's and was more vulnerable at that point in his career. Frankie DePaula had him hurt in his next fight and previously Emile Griffith of all people had managed to knock him down, not that Tiger was seriously hurt. LaMotta was never hurt in the 1940's which was his prime.

I don't think Satterfield had been a pro for very long at the time, and back then would have probably fought at around the same weight as Jake.. Not quite Bob Foster at 175.
