By the way, I was wondering if, as a Wrestling fan, have you ever heard of Doc Krone. Apparently he was the top wrestling promoter in Chicago in the 1920's - 30's.

Yep. We discussed Jess a bit before. He and his brother were to be the promoters for the Jeannette/ Jack Johnson fight that fell through.

Maybe you might know. What was the most famous wrestling match that was considered purely wrestling (as in without the dramatics of the WWF days. Like when it was straight up competition in the 20's). Some names I saw popping up was Ed "Strangler" Lewis and Stanislaus Zybysko (and his brother apparently, Wladek).

Sounds right. Vontell would probably know better though about that time period. I'd say Steamboat-Savage 87 or Steamboat Flair 1989. Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig in 1991 is a wrestling clinic too.
