Vernon “The Iceman” Paris has an important fight coming up against Zab Judah on March 24th as they headline NBC Sports Network televised card in Brooklyn, NY. While training camp and preparation are going great for Paris, he recently got into a “fight” before stepping in the ring as he and Kendall Holt took to Twitter to spew insults to each other.

Paris was on the most recent edition of BoxingScene’s official audio show The Boxing Lab and addressed the Kendall Holt situation.

“I’m looking at this Kendall Holt thing and he’s going off about how much money he makes. Let me tell you something. I rather not make a dime [if it means] I got to be knocked out. Don’t pay me, you’re not paying me to be knocked out. I want to get paid to win” said Vernon.

“This guy is happy because he got knocked out! I mean why? Have you ever seen anybody happy for getting knocked out? Kendall Holt did."

Paris definitely has the gift of gab and he put it on display leading up to his fight against Tim Coleman last year. Ironically enough, Kendall Holt is now scheduled to fight Coleman later tonight in the main event of ESPN’s Friday Night Fights. Despite the animosity Paris and Coleman showed to each other, Paris feels Coleman will come out victorious over Holt.

“I’m going with Tim. Tim’s a hell of a fighter man. Kendall when he fought Danny Garcia I thought it was two old men fighting each other man. The worst damn fight I’ve ever seen in my life. Danny Garcia is slow as hell and Kendall Holt, it’s like what the hell is this? It’s a disgrace. Now Danny Garcia is about to fight for the championship of the world against another old man. Why don’t they fight me though?” spewed Paris.

Even with all their back and forth and war of words, don’t expect Vernon Paris to step in the ring with Kendall Holt anytime soon.

“I would never fight Kendall Holt. For what? Why would I fight that bum for? He’s washed up. What am I going to get out of fighting him? He’s lost four or five times and has been knocked out three or four times” exclaimed an animated Paris.

“I want to fight people that make sense. I want to fight Zab for no other reason than for what it’s for; to get the number one [ranking with the IBF]. Other than that, why would I want to fight Zab?”

Vernon Paris will have a chance to put the Junior Welterweight division on notice and get himself into title contention if he beats Zab Judah in their IBF title eliminator bout on March 24th.
