Grozny - In the main event of the evening, IBF #11 and WBO #14 lanky Chechen light heavyweight Umar Salamov (22-1, 17 KOs) shined with an effective destruction over German import Denis Liebau (24-3, 22 KOs).
After a cautious opener, Salamov started to land crisp shots in round two. Later in the round, he delivered a short left hook to the liver section of Liebau. The German got on a knee and was unable to beat the count, sitting in pain.
The official time was 2:15 of the second round. With the win, Salamov acquired vacant Eurasian Boxing Parliament and WBO International light heavyweight titles. A boost in ranks is not also expected.
Super middleweight Aslambek Idigov (14-0, 6 KOs) made a very quick work of Kenyan veteran Daniel Wanyonyi (27-13-2, 22 KOs), putting him down three times in round two with overhand rights to punctuate his TKO 2 win over the African at 2:32. WBO #14 Idigov is a new WBO Asia Pacific super middleweight champion.
Heavyweight Apti Davtaev (16-0-1, 15 KOs) showed his solid punching power in a six-round drubbing of overmatched Ukrainian import German Skobenko (5-2-2, 2 KOs), who matched Davtaev in boxing skills but was in the other league in terms of physical presence and punching power.
Davtaev's dominance increased until a moment, at 2:40 of the sixth round, when a barrage of his punches left Skobenko almost defenseless with a white towel floating over the ropes. The fight was scheduled for ten.
It hasn't been easy tonight, but "The Russian Sledgehammer" Dmitry Kudryashov (22-2, 22 KOs) got the job done in time, stopping Uruguayan import Mauricio Barragan (17-4, 10 KOs) at 2:10 of the sixth round.
The fight went long after the point it had been predicted to go beforehand, as the WBC #11 rated power puncher looked plodding and rusty after almost a year off.
Kudryashov looked for some combination punching but Barragan was elusive and neglecting, though landed little in return. Kudryashov dominance got more prominent in rounds five and six, and he pounded the import opponent until the latter had no other option but to get on a knee and to get up after that.
In a two-way collision between two less-than-stellar opponents, local favorite Apti "The Tiger" Ustarkhanov (16-3-3, 5 KOs) didn't prove his punching power but definitely proved his fighting skills against Uzbek import Muhitdin Rajapbaev (13-6, 9 KOs). Both combatants rumbled hard, but Ustarkhanov was just a notch better in a majority of exchanges. Final scores were: 79-73, 79-74, and 78-75 - all for Ustarkhanov.
In a closely-contested eight-round fight, light heavyweight Movsur Yusupov (15-0, 7 KOs) was forced to work hard to get a win over well-travelled and tricky veteran Konstantin Piternov (21-17, 10 KOs). Piternov was elusive, played possum often and bursted with some pitty-pat barrages at the ropes. It wasn't enough to discourage the Chechen plodder, who ,arched forward and gave his share of punches to the Russian boxer. Final scores were: 79-71, 79-72, and 78-73 - for Yusupov, who decked Piternov briefly in round seven.
Dangerously punching light welterweight Viskhan Murzabekov (19-3, 13 KOs) got his fifth consecutive stoppage win, when his overmatched Georgian opponent Nukri Gamgebeli (8-3, 7 KOs) turned his back on Murzabekov at 2:12 of the sixth round.
30-year old Ossetian Aslanbek "The Lion" Kozaev improved his record to 32-2-1, with 8 KOs, following a spirited win over rugged compatriot Alexander Kotov (8-5-1, 5 KOs). Kotov, who was coming off two back-to-back stoppage win in Macao, gave as much as he could take himself but it wasn't enough to trouble stocky and well-built Kozaev. The latter used his superior workrate and technique to dominate Kotov in a majority of rounds. Final scores were: 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91 - for Kozaev, who is now six fights removed from his latest loss to Taras Shelestyuk.

19-year old flyweight Mehdi Abdurashedov (4-0, 1 KO) moved up with a convincing decision over Georgian import Jaba Memishishi (8-7, 1 KO). Abdurasehdov dropped Memishishi once and cruised to three identical scorecards in his favour: 60-53 (x3).
