Former WBA super middleweight belt-holder Callum Smith will return to the ring on November 30 in Birmingham, England, it was announced today (November 17).

Now a light heavyweight, Smith, 29-2 (21), last boxed back in January, when he was stopped inside seven rounds by Russia’s Artur Beterbiev in a WBC, IBF and WBO title fight. Prior to that he had beaten Mathieu Bauderlique and Gilbert Castillo Rivera in four rounds and two rounds respectively.

His last fight at super middleweight was a 12-round decision loss at the hands of Mexican Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in December 2020.

This next fight, meanwhile, Smith’s 32nd as a pro, will take place at Resorts World Arena in Birmingham on a show topped by the flyweight fight between Sunny Edwaards and Galal Yafai. No opponent for Smith was named in the announcement.
