London - Doncaster’s Jason Ball believes boxing fans will be in for a treat on Saturday night (Feb 18.) when he takes on the much talked about Middleweight sensation Chris Eubank Jr at the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham.

“I can see the fight being fast paced which will make great viewing for the fans.” Said Jason

The Eubank Jr vs. Ball fight will be shown exclusively on Channel 5 from 9.55pm.

“I know he has got a lot of skill in the ring and has trained with some good boxers and I’ve read that his dad has shown him things in the gym like foot movement and punches that he would throw, so this would be a tough fight for anyone to take on, but I accepted the fight as I’m always looking to push myself and winning this fight would be a great achievement to boost me up in the boxing world.

“Plus the opportunity to fight on Channel 5 will allow my family and friends who are unable to make it on the night to watch the fight and it will also allow me to showcase my skills to a wider audience and build up a larger fan base.” Added Jason

London - Nottingham’s former IBF world title challenger Jason “2Smooth” Booth is looking forward to making his debut on Channel 5 this Saturday (18th February) when he enters the ring and challenges Sheffield’s Kid Galahad for the WBC International Super Bantamweight title.  “I’m really looking forward to making my Channel 5 debut; I wish it had come 5 years earlier.” said Booth

The 12 round contests will be shown live and exclusive on Channel 5 from 9.55pm.

Booth, who has also held the British and Commonwealth belts and fought for the European title three times in his 44 fight career, was apprehensive at first when he got the call from his manager but after thinking it through he decided to accept the fight. “I was training hard before I got the call from my manager and at first I wasn’t sure whether to take it or not as it was only 4 weeks’ notice, but I was offered a good purse and the opportunity to fight live on Channel 5, so I couldn’t turn it down and it was also a 12 round fight and I like 12 rounder’s.” explained Jason.

“I’ve watched a few of Kid Galahad’s fights, He’s is a good Brendan Ingle fighter who is an awkward switch hitter and he’s known for being an elusive boxer, his team are writing me off, they think he can step up and beat me but I’m quietly confident I can outwit him.

“You also have to question whether Galahad can go the full 12 rounds as he’s only ever completed six.” Added Jason.

Booth, in contrast, has completed the championship course 13 times and as manager Jimmy Gill said: “Titles are won in the last six rounds.”

Tickets for the WBC International Super Bantamweight title between Kid Galahad and Jason Booth at the Magna Centre on Feb 18 are priced at £30.00, £50.00 and £75, and can be purchased from Ticketline on 0844 888 4402, Ticketmaster on 0844 888 9991, Livenation on 0114 256 5567, HMV on 0843 221 0100 or from the Hennessy Sports Box office on 01925 755 222.

Tom Stalker and Anthony Joshua both struck gold this weekend in the Bocskai tournament in Debrecen, Hungary.

Tom Stalker overwhelmed Russian Vitaliy Dunaytsev by 24 points to 9, while Anthony Joshua's Uzbek opponent was unable to cope with pressure from the Finchley super heavyweight and was forced to retire at the end of round two.

In their first major performances of 2012, the powerful pair, who have already qualified for the Olympic Games, have given a positive indication of things to come this summer.
