French heavyweight Tony Yoka, 5-0 but currently suspended for testing positive to a forbidden substance, said Saturday night in Paris that he would like to fight Johann Duhaupas, 37-5, this summer in what would be an all French showdown.

Duhaupas´ manager MehdiAmeur comments that Yoka needs to show Duhaupas a lot more respect and points out the level of opponents that Johann has fought in the last few years. Still, with network Canal+ back in boxing this is a fight that may indeed happen.

The RingSports France show in Paris had middleweight Souleymane Cissokho, 8-0, on top and he knocked out Romian Garofalo, 14-4, in a national title fight and at bantamweight Elie Konki, 6-0, retained the French title with a unanimous decision over Anthony Chapat, 5-1-1, in a ten rounder. It was scored 99-90 on all cards.

In Korbach, Germany, middleweight Mario Jassmann, 18-0, retained the International German title (BDB version) with a fifth round stoppage over Finnish veteran Mika Jouensuu, 15-11. PSP Boxing promoted this show that also saw heavyweight Ilja Mezenvec, 19-1, knockout Jan Hrebik, 1-12, in second and Dane Heva Sharif, 2-0, knock out Petr Gina, 7-47,2, in the first.

Lightweight Redouane Kaya, 7-0, takes on Ukrainian Volodmyr Matviichuk, 4-2, that headliner of a show in Uppsala, Sweden, March 30 billed as Nordic Fight Night.

These two both participated as amateurs in the 2011 European Championships and both lost to the future silver medal winner Domenico Valentino. Matviiichuk won bronze and spent much of his career in the shadow of the great Lomachenko and turned pro late and lost this past weekend on points to Samuel Molina in Spain. As for Kaya he turned pro in 2012 and went 4-0 and then tried his luck in the US but nothing materialized and returned to Sweden and came back in 2017.
