Junior middleweight contender Tony Harrison (23-1, 19KOs) stopped Fernando Guerrero (28-4, 20KOs) in six rounds in a fight that featured two discernible shifts in momentum at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Through three rounds, Guerrero seemed frozen as Harrison dominated, winning rounds behind an educated jab and crisp right hands. After Guerrero failed to land a punch in round one, a right hand wobbled Guerrero in the second stanza, and a follow-up barrage in a neutral corner crumpled Guerrero to the canvas where he fell face-first. Guerrero beat the count just prior to the end of the round.

Guerrero was far more aggressive in round four and actually applied pressure, backing Harrison up. Harrison oddly seemed to take his foot off the gas and accept Guerrero’s surprising initiative, and he looked somewhat fatigued. In round five, the fight finally opened up. Guerrero settled into a rhythm and began to exchange with Harrison, hurting the Detroit native with a huge counter right hand.

The end, however, came in round six. Harrison landed a sharp left hook in the midst of an exchange, dropping Guerrero hard in a corner. Guerrero rose on unsteady legs and wobbled across the ring. Harrison was in rapid pursuit, and his first follow-up right hand floored Guerrero again, which prompted an immediate stoppage at 1:54 of round six.
