Tony Harrison and Bryant Perrella have remained respectful of one another throughout the buildup for their fight.

The courtesy extended to the scale, as both boxers easily made weight for their scheduled 12-round junior middleweight bout Saturday evening live on Fox from Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles.

Harrison (28-3, 21KOs) weighed 154.8 pounds, just under the allowable limit for their non-title fight. Perrella (17-3, 14KOs) checked in at 153.8 pounds for his divisional debut.

Both boxers are coming off of losses in their last fight and also entering with new head trainers.

Detroit’s Harrison has been out of the ring since an 11th round stoppage versus Jermell Charlo in their Dec. 2019 rematch, turning over the WBC junior middleweight title he claimed over Charlo 12 months prior. The setback came prior to the pandemic, with Harrison since losing his father and head trainer, Ali Salaam who passed away last April due to complications from COVID-19.

For this weekend’s main event, Harrison has trained under the guidance of his brother Lloyd Harrison, a former college basketball standout at Clarion University and pro baller who has always been part of the corner.

Perrella will fight for the first time with former four-division champ Roy Jones Jr., with whom he has spent the past several months at his camp in Pensacola, Florida. The 6’1” southpaw from Fort Myers, Florida moves up in weight for the fight as well, having previously campaigned at welterweight. His last fight at 147 pounds resulted in a heartbreaking—and controversial—10th round stoppage loss to Abel Ramos. Perrella was well ahead on the scorecards before suffering two knockdowns in the closing seconds of their Fox-televised bout last February in Nashville.

Omar Juarez (10-0, 5KOs) appears on the telecast with the same team though a new opponent. The 21-year-old prospect from Brownsville, Texas faces Argentina’s Elias Damian Araujo (21-2, 8KOs), a late replacement for an injured Jessie Roman.

Juarez weighed 142 pounds for his fourth straight fight on a Fox platform, all coming since the pandemic. Araujo—a regular sparring partner for former four-division champ Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez—weighed 141.8 pounds ahead of his second career fight outside the U.S,

Opening the telecast, 18-year-old New Jersey-bred prospect Vito Mielnicki Jr. (8-0, 5KOs) makes his second straight Fox-televised appearance as he faces Philadelphia’s James Martin (6-2, 0KOs) in a scheduled eight-round bout. Mielnicki tipped the scale at 151.2 pounds; Martin weighed right at the 152-pound catchweight limit.

Both boxers fought this past February. Mielnicki stopped Noe Lopez in the 3rd round on a Feb. 27th Fox telecast, one week after Martin suffered a six-round points loss to unbeaten Xander Zayas in an ESPN+ streamed bout.

Below are the weights for the rest of the undercard, with select bouts to air on FS1 which is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. ET.
