A second safety weigh-in was held on Saturday morning for the IBF super middleweight clash between champion Lucian Bute and challenger Edison Miranda, taking place on Saturday night at the Bell Center in Montreal QC, Canada. On Friday, Bute (25-0, 20KOs) hit the official scale at 167.2-pounds. Miranda (33-4, 29KOs), now trained by Joe Goossen, was a pound under the super middleweight limit at 167-pounds.
At Saturday's safety weigh-in, where neither fighter is allowed to weigh more than 178-pounds, Lucian Bute was 177.4-pounds, and Edison Miranda came in at 177.2.
