Junaid Bostan will fight in America before the end of the year.
The 21-year-old has raced to 7-0 since turning professional just last March and he will be rewarded for a scintillating start in the paid ranks.
Bostan, who notched up his sixth stoppage as recently as last weekend at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena, has been confirmed as an addition to the supporting cast of a show topped by a world title unification clash.
‘Star Boy’ secured his second quick finish of the calendar year on the undercard of Leigh Wood’s heroic come-from-behind stoppage victory over Josh Warrington to retain the WBA featherweight crown.
The Grant Smith-trained youngster took on Scottish Area super-welterweight champion Corey McCulloch over eight and ended the fight early.
And as a result, he has been handed the opportunity off a lifetime and is set to box on December 16 at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
The appearance will come on the undercard of his stablemate Sunny Edwards’ defence of the IBF flyweight world title against WBO champion Jesse Rodriguez as ‘Bam’ also puts his title at stake.
Galal Yafai, the undefeated Olympic gold medallist who is 5-0 with four inside the distance and holds the WBC International title at the weight of the clash between Rodriguez and Edwards, is understood to have been earmarked to box on the same bill as he looks to advance his burgeoning ledger ahead of a potential world title tilt himself in the early part of 2024.
