LOS ANGELES - Former world champion Randy "El Matador" Caballero (23-0, 14 KOs) has re-signed a multi-year promotional contract with Golden Boy Promotions, the company announced today. Caballero, who is 26 years old and from the Coachella Valley, is a former IBF Bantamweight World Champion who started his career with Golden Boy Promotions in 2010. He is currently ranked number 11 in the super bantamweight division by the WBC.

"I'm very excited to be back with a great company like Golden Boy Promotions," said Caballero. "We made a great team in the past by winning a World Title, and I'm sure we will have a great future together. I will soon become a Two Time World Champion! Thank you to the Golden Boy team."

"We have always believed in Randy Caballero as he has tremendous talent and the drive to become an elite fighter," said Oscar De La Hoya, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy Promotions.

"Randy is a young fighter with time on his side, and I know he will continue to work hard and rise up to become a world champion once again. Golden Boy supports Randy and is pleased to continue to be part of his professional career and journey in 2016 and beyond."

The former WBC Youth Intercontinental and NABO champion, Caballero earned a shot at a world title in April 2014 by stopping Kohei Oba in eight rounds in Kobe, Japan, and in October 2014 he defeated Stuart Hall via unanimous decision in Monte Carlo to win the vacant IBF Banatamweight Championship.

Returning to the ring after a long absence due to a large surgery to remove a cyst on his ankle, "El Matador" demonstrated his fighting spirit once again on February 5 when he defeated Ruben Garcia (17-2-1, 7 KOs) in a 10-round super bantamweight bout in his hometown of Indio, Calif. at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino that was televised live nationally on Estrella TV.
