On September 22nd at the Ota-City General Gymnasium of Tokyo, Yamanaka will defend his World Boxing Council bantamweight championship title for the 9th time against Moreno (35-3-1, 12KOs).

Yamanaka, who conquered the WBC title on April 2012, explains that he already knows the style of the dangerous Panamanian fighter.

“After I knew that the fight was finalized, I was really excited, and even more than I've been for other big fights. I am getting prepared better than ever, and I will try to knock him out," Yamanaka said.

Moreno has never been stopped and he's rarely ever been down, but he's been inactive for nearly a year after losing his title by way of a technical decision last September to Juan Carlos Payano.

Prior to that loss, Moreno had gone undefeated in the bantamweight division for well over a decade. A move to super bantamweight to face Abner Mares saw him lose a twelve round decision. He moved back to bantamweight afterwards.
