John Molina Jr. came in four pounds overweight Friday afternoon for his 140-pound title fight against Terence Crawford.

Molina will have two hours to lose the weight and come back to the scales at CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska. If Molina (29-6, 23 KOs) cannot lose the weight, their HBO “World Championship Boxing” main event still is expected to take place Saturday night, though Crawford’s WBC and WBO super lightweight titles wouldn’t be at stake.

Crawford weighed in at 139.6 pounds, below the super lightweight limit.

When asked by toprank.tv’s Crystina Poncher if he could make the weight, Molina said, “Yeah, definitely. We’re gonna get to work and do what we’ve gotta do. We’ll just take the four pounds off and get to work tomorrow.”

Omaha’s Crawford (29-0, 20 KOs) didn’t seem all that concerned about Molina coming in overweight.

“He’s the one who’s gotta lose it,” Crawford said. “Not me.”

Crawford doesn’t think Molina’s weight issue will have much impact on their scheduled 12-round fight.

“Not at all,” Crawford said. “I’m not worried about it. Like I told you, I’m ready for whatever he brings. I’ll stick with that.”
