WBO junior flyweight champion Ramón García has arrived in Asia two weeks early to acclimate to the heat of the Philippines, where the Mexican champion will defend his title against former champ Donnie Nietes on the 8th of October in Bacolod City. Garcia is going to have "top level" sparring in Cebu.

Ramon "Prince" Garcia, 29, will make the fourth defense of the title he won from Filipino Johnriel Casimero and recaptured from Jesus Geles. Garcia considers Nietes the most dangerous opponent of his career because of his experience and punching power. Nietes, 29, reigned in the strawweight division and now wants a second title.

Garcia has 16 wins, 9 KOs, and 2 losses. Nietes has 28 wins, 16 KOs, one loss and one draw.

Raul "Rayito" Garcia has traveled over with his brother. Like his brother, Raul wants to get some top level sparring to prepare himself for the scheduled clash with former two division champion Iván Calderón on October 29 in Puerto Rico.
