GUAYNABO, PUERTO RICO - Mike Oliver, who faces former double world champion Juan Manuel "Juanma" Lopez on Saturday, October 1, at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon, trained at the Wilfredo Gomez Gym Arena. The event will be presented by PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) and Top Rank.
Oliver (25-2 and eight KOs), accompanied by his manager Sammy Vega, did some light work in the gym, warm-up exercises, stretching, several rounds of mitts, hit the bag, and showed good physical condition.
"I feel great and ready to fight, we had a good workout and I'm ready to fight," said Oliver, who prepared in the mountains of the Poconos.
The match against Lopez (30-1, 27 KOs), a former bantamweight and featherweight champion of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), is scheduled for twelve rounds for the WBO's Latino title.
