Wembley Arena - For the EBU featherweight title, former two-division champion Kiko Martinez (44-11-2, 31 KOs) dropped Jordan Gill (27-2-1, 8 KOs) four times for a crushing stoppage in the fourth round. (photos by Mark Robinson)
Gill started off with his movement, using his boxing ability to keep the smaller Martinez at bay. In the second, Martinez did a little better as he was able to get close enough to land a few shots. In the third, Martinez was credited with a knockdown when a right hand sent Gill down. Gill managed to recover well, boxing and moving as Martinez was stalking him. Towards the end of the round, an uppercut dropped Gill for a second time in the fight.
Gill was boxing very well in the fourth, but he was dropped for a third time from a hard right hand. Gill was being shaken by every right hand that was landing. Gill's face was very bruised, and he was on the run. Another huge shot sent Gill down for a fourth time and the contest was waved off when trainer Dave Coldwell threw in the towel.
