Hylon Williams Jr. (15-0, 3 KO's) held a tough sparring session for twelve rounds at the Floyd Mayweather Gym in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was helped in this occasion by super bantamweight Alexis Santiago and also by Francisco C. Devaca, six rounds each. Williams Jr trains under the direction of Cuban trainer Ramón Garbey for his next fight on February 3rd against unbeaten Cuban Rances Barthelemy 14-0-0 (11 KO's), which takes place at Texas Station Casino in an eight round bout.
Garbey will not show any mercy for an opponent being in the opposite corner of the same nationality.
“This is normal, it happens frequently around the world and the true thing is that we all want to win," said Garbey
Hylon trusts in his skill, and stated - “I know Barthelemy is taller and has a longer reach but that does not intimidate me. I place my trust in my skills and on February 3rd we will go out there and give our best to win this hard fight."
Williams is promoted by Bluewave Boxing and their directors Luis DeCubas and Eddy Marín, who have big expectations for this young prospect. This company also handles the promotional threads of other Cuban fighters partnerships with other big promotional companies. Some of those fighters include Yordenis Ugas, Erislandy Lara, Yudel Jhonson and Yunier Dorticos.
