Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr (48-1-1, 32 KOs) will get a very stiff test on April 18th, when he faces Polish light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara (26-3, 15 KOs) at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Fonfara finished up camp with some tough sparring for the Showtime televised encounter.

The fight takes place at a catch-weight of 172-pounds. Fonfara is the biggest and strongest fighter that Chavez has ever faced in the ring. Chavez has only fought twice above the middleweight limit and both times were against Bryan Vera, who at best is a junior middleweight/middleweight. Fonfara came close to derailing the WBC champion Adonis Stevenson in 2014 and vows to walk away with the victory over Chavez next Saturday night.
