Wardley was coming back from a career best win, a fifth round stoppage of heavyweight title challenger Eric Molina in March.

While Webb,  on the same March card in Gibraltar, knocked out undefeated Erik Pfiefer in two rounds.

Webb came out pushing forward with the jab, while Wardley was looking to counter and landed a good hook that shook up Webb's legs. Some wild trading of punches between the two. Webb was landing well on Wardley. In the final minute, Wardley was landing heavy punches and mores heavy punches as he pinned Webb against the ropes. He finally sent Webb down hard as the referee jumped in to wave off the fight.
