Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - A few more news and pieces coming out of the WBC's 49th annual convention. A final light heavyweight eliminator was ordered between light heavyweights Jean Pascal (26-2-1, 16KOs) and Ismayl Sillakh (17-0, 14KOs). The winner of Pascal-Sillakh becomes the mandatory challenger to the winner of the ordered rematch between champion Bernard Hopkins and top contender Chad Dawson. As BoxingScene reported earlier, the WBC ordered a Hopkins-Dawson rematch.

The situation at 168 stays the same. The winner of Saturday's unification between Carl Froch [WBC] and Andre Ward [WBA] will have to face Anthony Dirrell.

At lightweight, Antonio DeMarco (26-2-1, 19KOs) was given permission to make an option defense before facing Jorge Linares (31-2, 20KOs) in a rematch. DeMarco captured the vacant title when he came from behind to stop Linares in eleven rounds on October 15th.

At featherweight, a financial issue got settled between champion Jhonny Gonzalez and Elio Rojas, the WBC's champion in recess. When the fight goes to a purse bid, the split will be 60-40 in favor of Gonzalez.

At bantamweight, Abner Mares will have to vacate his IBF super bantamweight title in order to maintain his grasp of the WBC's silver [interim] belt.

At flyweight, Pongsaklek Wonjongkam has until March to defend his belt against mandatory challenger Toshiyuki Igarashi.
