MGM Grand, Las Vegas - In a welterweight action, Abel Ramos (25-3-2) broke down Jimmy Williams (16-3-1) over 4 rounds.
Both fighters felt each other out in the first but Ramos kept applying more pressure as he slowly got to Williams. Ramos continued marching forward and in the fourth had Williams out on his feet which prompted referee Kenny Bayless to halt the bout at the 2:43 mark.
In today’s opening bout, John Leo Dato (12-0) kept his perfect record intact with a 5th round TKO of Juan Antonio Lopez (13-7) of Dallas, Texas in their featherweight bout. The Manny Pacquiao promoted fighter dropped Lopez in the first before stopping him in the 5th.
Genisis Libranza (19-1) also scored a stoppage victory by pummeling Carlos Maldonado in 4 rounds. Libranza landed several hard shots with not much coming back in return which prompted referee Russell Mora to stop the fight with Maldonado on his feet at the 2:58 mark.
