Kylie Hutt will clash with Desley Robinson on May 1 as she looks to achieve her lifelong ambition in becoming Australian Middleweight Champion.

Hutt recently signed with Dragon Fire Boxing and their supremo Tony Tolj, with the ambition of getting an opportunity for the Australian title in a second weight class.

That opportunity has come around as on May 1 she will clash for the title at the Acacia Ridge Hotel in Queensland. Hutt opened up about her team securing her the opportunity to contest the Aussie title.

She said, “I have to say a massive thanks to my manager Tony Tolj, who promised me when I signed with him he would get me these type of fights and he’s instantly delivered. I can’t be more grateful for this opportunity.

“I have got to say thank you to all of my training team and family for believing in me to get me to this stage. I’m so grateful for all the support I receive and I promise I will give my everything in preparation for this fight.

“I have always wanted this opportunity it’s what I got into boxing for. I’m now ready to go and grab this chance with both hands and accomplish a goal I set out to accomplish a long time ago.”

Standing in Hutt’s way on May 1 is Desley Robinson, and Hutt weighed in on her opponent in Queensland.

Hutt said, “This fight is definitely a step up for me and Desley is coming to fight. That’s what I know and that’s why I have got to give everything in camp.

“It’s going to be an unmissable fight for entertainment but believe me I am cutting no corners for this fight and I truly believe that I will become Australian Champion on May 1 I have no doubt in that fact.”

WBO #6 super middleweight Aslambek “The Hulk” Idigov will return to action On Friday, February 21, at the Dynamo Palace of Sports in Krylatskoye, Moscow.

Undefeated Idigov (17-0, 7 KOs) of Grozny, Russia, will face Edmonton, Alberta’s Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford (17-5, 12 KOs) in a 10-round battle on Akhmat Promotion Company’s boxing event stacked with up-and-coming Russian talent.

Also featured that night will be undefeated Russian super welterweight champion Islam “The Sniper” Edisultanov’s (9-0, 6 KOs) bragging rights battle against countryman Evgeny Terentiev (15-2, 7 KOs) in the main event, as well as power-punching heavyweight Apti Davtaev (19-0-1, 18 KOs) taking on also undefeated John Napari of Accra, Ghana (21-0, 15 KOs).

At 17-0 and with a world ranking, Idigov is quickly closing in on the types of fights he hoped for when he signed with Salita Promotions and relocated to Detroit to train with SugarHill Steward at Kronk Gym.

“I’ve been training very hard in Detroit and I’m learning more every day,” said Idigov. “I have grown stronger and faster than ever before working with SugarHill. It doesn’t matter who is put in front of me anymore. The Hulk will smash them all.”

Promoter Dmitriy Salita says the ever-improving Idigov is looking at a big 2020.

“With all his hard work, Aslambek is emerging as one of the top super middleweight contenders in the world,” said Salita. “He has grown leaps and bounds with each training camp. I look forward to another great performance on February 21 and a very big year overall for his career.”

Banner Promotions has signed undefeated heavyweight Isaac Munoz Gutierrez to a co-promotional deal with United Promotions.

Gutierrez, 27 years-old of Torreon Coahuila de Zaragoza, Mexico has a record of 12-0-1 with 10 knockouts.

"We are happy to bring Isaac to Banner Promotions.  He is a very good prospect that was brought to my attention by Don MacDonald of United Promotions.  I have seen him and he has good power. I feel that he will make waves in the heavyweight division," said Banner Promotions President Artie Pelullo. 

"I feel very happy to sign with Banner Promotions. Being with a big company will be great for my career.  With Banner and United Promotions, I feel my career can go to big heights, and I am grateful for that," Said Gutierrez.

"I have known Artie Pelullo for 25 years, and I know what he can do.  I feel Artie and Banner Promotions is the promoter that will make the inroads for Isaac in the heavyweight division," said Don MacDonald of United Promotions.

Gutierrez was 220-20 as an amateur, and was a multi-time Mexican National champion, and was part of the Mexican National boxing team for two years.  Gutierrez competed in the World Series of Boxing.

Gutierrez turned professional on September 9, 2011 with a 1st round stoppage over Misael Jossy Chavez.  Gutierrez has established himself as a power puncher, and is coming off a 1st round stoppage over Jesus Alberto Martinez Torres on September 7th.

"We are extremely happy to sign with Banner Promotions.  This is exactly what we wanted, and need for Isaac's career.  I have known about Banner Promotions and Artie Pelullo for a long time, and I know he can get Isaac to the top level," said Gutierrez manager, Manuel Garrido.

Multi time regional title holder Steve Gago will challenge for the WBC Australasia title against current WBC Asia Pacific Champion Gesiler AP on March 6 in Metro City, Perth.

Gago, who was unlucky to miss out against Kazak amateur standout and now an undefeated pro, Nursultan Zhangabayev in his last outing, in a fight that many observers saw the Perth native winning including all commentators despite 3 low blow point deductions taken from the undefeated Kazak. Gago now looks to make his way up the world rankings with the WBC, as he challenges their current Asia Pacific champion on the latest edition of the Thunderdome Series.

Gago opened up about his WBC title opportunity, “Firstly I have to thank my manager the bossman Tony Tolj for making this a possibility. To get me back into title action in this way is amazing and I’m very grateful for everything Tony has done for me.

“When you’re a kid growing up in boxing you dream of being a WBC Champion. You look at legends like Sugar Ray Leonard, Floyd Mayweather, Roy Jones Jr, Marco Antonio Barrera and other greats and you dream of being like them and winning the titles they did So I’m excited to fight for a WBC belt and hopefully begin to climb the ladder towards fighting for a WBC world title someday.

"I've been training really hard since my last fight because opportunities like this come around so when they do I know I’m ready. I'm still improving as a fighter and that is getting me to where I need to be in my career and that is at title level."

Gago has impressed in recent months, having won the IBF Pan-Pacific title at the IBF convention last year in Macau. The Western Australian native discussed his plans moving forward and his success so far as a pro.

He said, "I've been really blessed to get some great opportunities so far in the professional game so thank you to my manager, the best in tje business Tony Tolj for making that happen.

"I really enjoyed winning the IBF title at the convention in Macau. Those are great memories that fighters take from their careers, and I believe there are many more nights like that to come in my career.

"I’m very grateful to be given this opportunity by the WBC to fight for one of their titles, so I just want to continue to progress up the world ratings and hopefully one day get a world title fight.”

Lightweight prospect Ruben “Ace” Torres (11-0, 9 KOs), will headline Thompson Boxing's “Path To Glory" event on Friday, Feb. 21st, from the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Calif.

Torres, who is rapidly making a name for himself with his aggressive style, headlines his third straight Thompson Boxing card, as he faces the dangerous knockout artist from Sonora, Mexico, Gabino Cota (19-10-2, 17 KOs), in an eight-round main event clash.

The 22-year old Torres, who hails from South Central Los Angeles, is guided by Danny Zamora and trains out of the Santa Fe Springs Activities Center in, Santa Fe Springs, Calif. Torres is most known for his power on the right hand, as all but two of his fights have ended by way of knockout.

“This is such a great opportunity for me," said Torres. “I’m comfortable and happy with my promoter, they are allowing me to elevate my game and are putting me in a great position along with my trainer/manager Danny Zamora. On February 21st, I will look to put on another great performance and like always, fans can expect to see my hands flying.”

Torres is no stranger to headlining a show as his last two outings have been eight-round main event bouts, with “Ace” knocking out his opponents in the first and second round respectively. Standing in front of Torres' undefeated record is Gabino “The Flash” Cota, who is known for his explosive strength.

“My opponent is not only tough," Torres said. "He also comes forward at all his fights and we know he has knock out power. Our fight should be a barn burner."

Torres has been working hard in camp, sparring his teammate, super lightweight Michael Dutchover, who is also signed to Thompson Boxing. 

"I've been getting pushed a lot in camp.” stated Torres, who turned professional nearly three years ago. "I'm getting some great sparring with Michael and other guys as well; my coach is also having me do specific drills that I will use to my benefit. One thing is for sure, I’m going to give the fans an entertaining bout.”
