Former IBF lightweight world champion Miguel Vazquez (43-10, 17 KOs) bounced back with a win, as he pulled off a one-sided stoppage win over Isai Hernandez (10-2-1, 7 KOs) at the Verite Social Venue in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

In their junior welterweight fight, Vazquez was credited with two knockdowns in the fifth, by sending Hernandez down to a knee. He continued to do damage in the sixth and finally closed the show in the seventh when the referee had seen enough and stopped the fight.

Coming in, Vazquez had lost three of his last four fights. 

In his last outing, in October of last year against Lewis Ritson, he lost a very controversial twelve round split decision. Many observers felt the Mexican veteran had done more than enough to win.

To advance his career, Vazquez later hooked up with management company MTK Global.

In other action, super bantamweight Ariel Perez (6-0, 5 KOs) recovered from a knockdown in the second round to blast out Brandon Romero (11-2-1, 6 KOs) in the seventh for the WBC Youth Intercontinental title.

Lightweight prospect Jonathan Escobedo (5-1, 1 KO) pulled off a small upset when he secured an eight round split decision win over previously unbeaten Ronan Sanchez (5-1, 3 KOs).

Escobedo started fast with a knockdown in the first round. The contest would last the entire distance, with scores of 76-75, 78-74 Escobedo, and 77-74 Sanchez.

Featherweight prospect Jonathan “Geo Don” Lopez (3-0, 2 KOs) picked up a six round decision win over Omar Santillan (5-2, 0 KOs). The scores were 59-55, 60-54 and 60-54.
