Tomorrow night in Baja California, Antonio Margarito and Ramon Alvarez will trade punches over twelve rounds in the junior middleweight division.

Margarito (39-8, 27 KOs) and Alvarez (23-4-2, 15 KOs) will battle for the WBO Continental super welterweight championship at Playas de Rosarito and Azteca 7, La Casa del Boxeo, will handle the broadcast in Mexico.

This will be Margarito's second fight since breaking his retirement in March, when he won a ten round decision over Jorge Paez Jr. In that contest Margarito was knocked down and seemed to be seriously hurt. He survived that near disaster to pull off the win.

Ramon Alvarez confirmed that his younger brother, Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, will accompany him to the ring and sit ringside in support. Canelo is breaking camp to stand by his brother's side. Canelo is training for his upcoming fight with WBO junior middleweight world champion Liam Smith on September 17th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Margarito is hoping to get Canelo in the ring by the end of the year. Part of his reasoning in securing a fight with Ramon was to build a potential future fight with Canelo.

In a recent interview, Canelo told Margarito that he's very far away from getting a crack at him. Margarito hopes to change his mind tomorrow night.

"I heard the other day that Canelo was saying that I'm thinking too far ahead, that I'm still far away from being able to fight with him. But he has to remember that I was already in that position [that Canelo is in] - and I faced better opponents and I didn't turn away from anyone. He said that I should first focus on beating his brother and I'm doing that, but my objective are the big fights and if it won't be him then someone else," Margarito told ESPN Deportes.
