Former world champion Antonio 'Tijuana Tornado' Margarito is ready for a war with world ranked Ramon "Inocente" Alvarez.

The fight takes place this Saturday night at the Baja California Center in Playas de Rosarito and Azteca 7 will televise the contest for millions of households in Mexico.

Margarito (39-8, 27 KOs) vs. Alvarez (23-4-2, 15 KOs) is a twelve round super welterweight contest and will have the WBC Americas world title at stake. The card is being staged by Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions.

Alvarez, 29-years-old, has made his camp in his native Guadalajara, Jalisco - and he's been supported by his younger brother, Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. Canelo, who is training to face WBO 154-pound champion Liam Smith on September 17, is doing everything possible to help his brother prepare in camp.

Margarito, 38-years-old, trained for three months in San Diego, California and once again he was coached by Mexican-American Juan Estrada.

"We're closed very strong preparation on Saturday. In May [against Jorge Paez Jr.] we were working on explosiveness and speed. I feel much better than I was in my camp before Paez jr. I'll win and I'll do my job," Margarito said.

"Only me and Ramon will be in that ring - not his brother, nobody else in his family.  We are ready for a war and the public is going to really enjoy this."

In May, Margarito returned to the ring for the first time since December of 2011. He had to survive a knockdown to win a decision over Paez Jr. The ultimate goal for Margarito is to land a major fight in near future. Alvarez's brother, Canelo, is at the top of his list.
