The World Boxing Association (WBA) Championships Committee has scheduled a new date for the purse bid for the mandatory title clash between WBA lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko and challenger Anthony Crolla.

The representatives of both parties were notified of the bid, which was originally scheduled for February 4, will now take place on February 13 at the offices of the WBA in Panama City.

Two other purse bids will take place on the same day, for Daniel Roman's super bantamweight defense against Murdjon Akmadiev, and Beibut Shumenov's WBA "regular" cruiserweight title defense against Arsen Goulamiriam. 

Lomachenko is the Super Champion of the category since May 10th when he went up a weight class to face the then champion Jorge Linares with the title at stake.

The Ukrainian knocked out the Venezuelan in the ninth round after visiting the canvas in the fifth. It was one of the most dramatic fights of 2018 and the fight of the year for the WBA. Later, in December, “Loma” carried out the second defense of his crown against the Puerto Rican Jose Pedraza, whom he beat by unanimous decision to pick up the IBF title.

In the case of Anthony Crolla, he was already a 135-pound champion between 2015 and 2016. He won the title four years ago against Darleys Perez and defended it once against Ismael Barroso. However, he succumbed in his second defense against Linares in September of 2016.

Crolla challenged Linares again in rematch but could not win that bout either. Since then he has had three victories in a row to have the right to challenge the champion once again.

The purse bid will be directed by Aurelio Fiengo. For its part, the minimum bid amount will be $150,000 and the distribution will be 75% for Lomachenko and 25% for Crolla.
