WBA 'regular' junior welterweight champion Jessie Vargas (25-0, 9KOs) wants to send a message on November 22nd in Macau, with a knockout victory over former champion Antonio DeMarco (31-3-1, 23KOs). The fight will be part of the HBO Pay-Per View undercard to the welterweight fight between Manny Pacquiao and Chris Algieri.
Vargas was promised some very big things to come in 2015, but he was told to put on a show with an impressive victory over DeMarco. Top Rank's CEO, Bob Arum, promised to place him in some big fights if he looks good.
DeMarco, a former WBC champion at 135-pounds, wants to capture another world title after losing his past crown to Adrien Broner in 2012.
"I spoke with Arum and the opportunities are there, but I have to focus on November 22. I have to look good. I want a knockout. I'm going to come in there and I'm ready for anything. I am going to break him. I have this warrior's mentality, and everyone is going to see that on November 22," Vargas told ESPN Deportes.
