Glow, Bluewater, Greenhithe, Kent - James "Chunky" DeGale (17-1, 11 KOs) continued his run to a world title shot with a dominating win over elusive American contender Dyah Davis (22-4-1, 10 KOs), the son of 1976 gold medalist Howard Davis Jr.

DeGale won all but two rounds, getting the scores 118-110 across the boards (by Robin Dolpierre, Mark Green and Ian-John Lewis). Rated #3 by the WBC, DeGale, who also holds WBO #4, IBF #5 and WBA #9 positions, defended his WBC Silver title for the second time and targets Marko Antonio Periban as his next opponent in a WBC eliminator.

The fight was cautious at the start but then 2008 Beijing Olympic gold medalist started to take off. His punches were unexpected, he was able to hot slightly rusty Davis from all angles, and he delivered leather to support his claim of being a better fighter. With two liquid movers in the ring, the fight wasn't really competitive for the first seven rounds, as the British boxer was in control of the action but Davis couldn't do anything of note. Things got more interested in the eighth - a huge period for the American. DeGale took the control back in the ninth and hurt Davis a bit in the tenth. The end was mostly in the Chunky's favor, who finished the contest showboating over his slightly lethargic opponent.

Middleweight prospect Chris Eubank Jr. (12-0, 7KOs) stopped Frankie Borg (8-2, 4KOs) at the end of the sixth round of action. It was the third stoppage win for Eubank in 2013.
