In a clash of unbeaten junior bantamweights, Jade Bornea overcame a knockdown to defeat Ernesto Delgadillo by split-decision Thursday night at the Legends Casino in Toppenish, Washington.

One judge scored the bout 96-93 for Delgadillo, while the other two judges scored the bout 96-93 for Bornea, who improves to 15-0, 10 knockouts.

Bornea, who resides in General Santos City in the Philippines, was making his United States debut. He is currently ranked No. 7 by the IBF.

Delgadillo had not fought since a unanimous decision victory over Nate Green in August 2018. The southpaw Delgadillo told Boxingscene in an interview last week that he had difficulty finalizing opponents over the last year or so.

From the opening bell, Delgadillo was the aggressor, attempting to walk down Bornea and connect with combinations to the head and body. By the midway point of the fight, Bornea became the aggressor, initiating exchanges.

Delgadillo was credited with a knockdown in round six, although replays showed Bornea was lost his balance after getting pushed down by Delgadillo.

Both fighters had their moments during the final two rounds, but Bornea landed the more-telling blows until the final bell sounded. With the victory, Bornea won a regional title belt.

Delgadillo, who resides in Dallas, Texas, drops to 11-1-2, 2 KOs.

In the co-feature, middleweight prospect Connor Coyle of Northern Ireland stopped Miguel Dumas after the end of the opening round.

Coyle (12-0, 5 KOs) battered Dumas from the opening bell, eventually hurting with a combination to the head towards the end of the round. After the bell had sounded to end the round, and after consulting with the ringside physician, referee Joel Scobie stopped the bout.

The 29-year-old Coyle, who now resides in Pinellas Park, Florida, has stopped his last two opponents.

Dumas drops to 12-3, 8 KOs. The Tijuana, Mexico resident has now lost three of his last five bouts.

In a clash of unbeaten light heavyweights, Richard VanSiclen of nearby Seattle stopped Abraham Martin after the opening round. Referee Jack Reiss stopped the bout.

VanSiclen improves to 8-0, 4 KOs, while Martin, who is originally from Tierra Blanca, Veracruz and now resides in Medford, Oregon, drops to 5-1, 5 KOs.

In junior welterweight action, 18-year-old William Hernandez-Gomez dominated Abdul Kamada (1-2) of Sierra Leone over four rounds to win by unanimous decision. All three judges scored the bout 40-35 in favor of Hernandez-Gomez, who improves to 4-0, 2 KOs.

Promoter of the card was Roy Jones Jr. Promotions. The card was streamed on UFC Fight Pass.
