Mexico's Cesar “Corazon” Juarez (25-6, 15 KOs) is back to the drawing board, after suffering a fifth round TKO defeat at the hands of undefeated Isaac Dogboe (18-0, 12 KOs) at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, Ghana.

Juarez was previously scheduled to fight WBO super bantamweight champion Jessie Magdaleno, but the champion withdrew with a wrist injury.

The Mexican boxer's team petitioned the WBO, who ordered a mandatory fight with Dogoe for the WBO-interim championship. Magdaleno is now under order to make a mandatory defense against Dogboe.

Juarez, ranked at number one, came out like a man on a mission, as he promised prior to the contest that he would push for a knockout victory based on the face that he was fighting in Dogboe's backyard.

The entire shift of the fight quickly changed when Dogboe decked Juarez in the second round and began to punish him with hard shots. Juarez did his best to rally for the next two rounds, but Dogboe proved to be too much - as he scored another hard knockdown in the fifth and this time referee Tony Weeks had seen enough and waved off the fight, with Juarez in no shape to continue.

After the contest was over, Dogboe was interviewed by local reporters and issued a challenge directly to Magdaleno.

"Jessie Magdelano I'm coming for you baby. I know you are going to run," Dogboe said.

Magdaleno is scheduled to return to the ring on March 10th, as part of an ESPN televised card which is going to featured Oscar Valdez in the main event with a defense of his WBO featherweight crown against Scott Quigg.

It remains to be seen if there is enough time to make the Magdaleno vs. Dogboe contest for that date, which is a little more than two months away. Dogboe and his management believe Magdaleno will do his best to avoid the contest. If Magdaleno does not fight him, the WBO will strip him of the belt and elevate Dogboe to full champion status.
