It was another fantastic performance from Ibeth Zamora as she retained her WBC flyweight world title against Gabriela Sanchez on Saturday.
Zamora (32-6, 12 KOs) was in fine form against Sanchez (7-4), dominating the majority of the fight on her way to a superb unanimous decision victory.
The bill also saw teenage sensation Jonathan Lopez (2-0, 2 KOs) go up against Francisco Rivas, with Lopez continuing the fantastic start to his professional career with another great knockout win.
This weekend also saw highly-rated Philippines star Albert Pagara (33-1, 23 KOs) return, as he went up against Virgil Puton. Pagara earned a convincing points victory over eight rounds, as he now looks to secure big fights in 2021.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Eryk Apreysan (7-0, 5 KOs) extended his unbeaten record with a points victory over Kelly Figueroa, but there was a controversial split decision defeat for Costin Ion (8-3-2, 3 KOs) against undefeated Bernard Angelo Torres, with many in attendance believing Ion should have won.
IN OTHER NEWS: 19-year-old Aussie prospect, Ty Payne moves to 2-0. Fighting out of Kingscliff, New South Wales, Payne made an impressive return to the ring with a third-round knockout over Gary Ross at The Croatian Stadium in the Gold Coast.
Payne has great enthusiasm about his future and discussed his future.
