Rio Olympic champion Hasanboy Dusmatov, 23-year-old and winner of a gold medal for Uzbekistan, has denied the statements of Golden Gloves promoter Rodney Berman.

If you recall, it was only a week ago that Berman revealed that Dusmatov has now signed a promotional contract with his company to move forward in the professional ranks.

There is only one problem, Dusmatov has no idea who Berman is, and claims that he doesn't have any intention of going pro in the near future. He plans to defend his Olympic championship at the 2020 games in Tokyo.

"I'm not familiar with this man and I don't have any agreement with him," Dusmatov said. 

"At the moment I'm going to continue to advocate for the Uzbek Tigers [World Series of Boxing league], and after defending my title at the Olympic Games in Tokyo - then maybe I'll start a career in the pros. I need to consult with my mentor Ziyatdinbekom Toigonbaev, but so far I did not sign a contract with any promotional company. "
