The return of welterweight contender Harlem Eubank, scheduled for Friday this week, has been postponed to November 22.

Instead of boxing in Bolton, the Brighton man is now heading further north and will fight Frenchman Nurali Erdogan at the Walker Dome in Newcastle.

The Wasserman-promoted Eubank is 19-0 (8 KOs), and the 30-year-old has been in pursuit of a big fight, even calling out Conor Benn, who seems more likely to face Chris Eubank early next year instead.

The 27-year-old Erdogan has scored just one stoppage win on his way to winning 16 contests and losing three.

The plan is to bring Eubank back to his hometown in early 2025 should he secure victory.

More than two million tuned in to see his last fight, in Brighton and televised on Channel 5, when he stopped Timo Schwarzkopf in 11 rounds, and more than a year would have passed before he steps back into the ring.

The Newcastle bill also features junior middleweight prospect Dan Toward, 4-0, who will be fighting in front of his hometown fans, while Ben Marksby takes on Levi Kinsiona in a 10-rounder at 140lbs.

Middleweight Niall Brown, 12-0 (4 KOs), is also in action as is 3-0-1 junior lightweight Codie Smith.

Germany’s Sophie Alisch boxes at featherweight in what will be her first outing for almost 18 months, and local ticket-sellers Joe Laws and Lee Rogers are also slated to appear, along with welterweight hope Robert Lloyd-Taylor Jnr, who is 9-0 (1 KO).
