Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey - In what was a fight of the year/round of the year/upset of the year candidate - Krzysztof Glowacki shocked longstanding WBO cruiserweight champio, Marco Huck. In what was supposed to be a coming out party on American soil for Huck, Glowacki sent shockwaves through the boxing world by getting up from the canvas in round 6 to knock Huck out in round 11.

“The U.S. market is now open to me,” Glowacki said ringside after the right ended. “Fans around the world will now have to respect the cruiserweight division.”

Fighting in front of a pro Polish crowd, Glowacki hit the canvas after eating a big left hand from Huck in the 6th. Looking all but out in the round, Glowacki rose and fought on.

“I didn’t know where I was,” Glowacki told the press ringside.

But he got up and fought on in every round and eventually landed an overhand left that sent Huck down to the canvas in the 11th. Huck got up and was jumped on by Glowacki, who landed several punches to nearly send Huck through the ropes and forced the referee to stop the bout.

“When there was one minute left in the eleventh I knew I had to come on strong,” said Glowacki. “I always had a thing against bullies. Huck was trying to bully me in the ring and I brought it to him. This is the biggest night of my life.”
