Not to mention, Mosley is just not as good a fighter at 154. This is a very good matchup. Just shouldn't be on PPV.

I would hope there is atleast some discount and the card is decent, since they really don't have to do that great to cover their costs since Mosley guerentee is only like 2 million and I am sure Mora's cut is considerably smaller.

PPV is not ideal because it does cut down on overall viewership but if you need the cash and there are no other options what can you do (besides Mosley has been a very good soldier for GBP so they atleast owe him this much).

I hear you. I just feel like this is going to kill the sport, man. Like seriously. When fights like this are available on HBO PPV? My God. They better stack that card and throw a $30 tag on there.

Two guys from Cali fighting in LA in front of a sold out arena full of Mexicans.

Mora beat the guy who beat SSM. The fight was supposed to be on HBO, but HBO turned the fight down, so they had no choice, but to put the fight on HBO because of Mosley's salary.

You can probably buy the PPV and pay $29.99 after all the rebates. How much was the SSM vs. Floyd fight? After the rebates, the fight was around $30-40.

Yea but it could be worse, I don't consider the fight overly meaningful but the winner is nicely positioned and with fairly low overhead (and for them hopefully a strong gate at Staples) I think they stand a decent chance of making money.

I just hope HD only cost 50 or 55 (pre rebate), I will take 10 dollars off and a fairly good card as acceptable but I can certainly understand any fan who wouldn't want to pony up for that fight.

I am interested to see how GBP promotes taht fight though and how that plays out, because GBP has proven they can sell fights to the public that are atlest somewhat in demand so I want to see if they can sell ice to Eskimos (which is what they need to do to really do well on this card).

Rebates? All that means is that I have to pay other people too. I gotta go through all of that to watch Mosley-Mora? My God. We miss you, Don King.

Don King was a jerk, but he put together some stellar cards back in the 90s.

HBO is making some crap choices lately. Imagine if the Showtime people had HBO's budget.

but I guess thats how it is, isnt it? Showtime only puts together such great cards out of necessity, because they dont have the money to compete with HBO.
                sigh.

                  Agreed.

Im surprised they would want to match him with someone so awkward, i mean look how he struggled to get to grips with Mayorga's punches, strange rhythm.

GBP will have an extremely hard time selling this one. They had a better shot with Jones-Calzaghe. At least that had a 24/7. These kind of fights compound the problem. Networks are taking losses on a lot of fights and trying to recoup by putting everything on PPV. They don't realize that in doing so they risk losing the very thing they need - the consumer.

Yeah and Mora is tough whereas Shane isn't so powerful at 154. An upset is highly likely here. I'll be streaming.
