Max Holloway could be a star

Not just for his skills, he has been exceptional for years and hopefully gets another title shot.

But the fact that the whole show aired on national TV in the UK and on BT in the UK and it was filled with some very good fights with the main event being one of the best toe to toe fights in any combat sport for months.

It couldn't have been a better showcase for him or the UFC.

    He’s honestly can’t miss tv.

If a fan of strictly boxing asked me to describe him, I’d say imagine a high skilled Margarito (or insert your typical high volume and skilled Mexican with a never ending tank and heart) but as an MMA guy.

Max is a savage. Can’t believe he’s still only 29. I like that he isn’t sparring anymore. Dude was notorious for full on sparring wars

It aired on national TV in the US as well. Probably the best showcase possible for that audience.

Yeah, Martinez did the same things years ago and it helped prolong hs career. For a guy as high octane as Max its a great decision!

He needs another title shot and then probably moving up in weight.

Yep, Dana couldnt have wished for a better show and in all honesty, he put in two guys who were always going to produce a good show.

What about getting Max vs Dustin going?

Now that could be a big time fight. Specially for the strap at 155?

Seeing how Volka-whatever doesn't want to fight Max again and the 155 division is kinda jacked up due to Tony taking back to back Ls, Khabib retiring, Conor taking the latest L, Gaethje being beaten in such a way that if it were back in UFC 120 days he'd never see another title fight again.

Why not match them up for a strap on the biggest up-swings in the UFC presently?

The best path for him is for Ortega to beat Volkanovski. Cause a trilogy has never happened before... He could move up to 155, would be interesting.

It would be a great marketing decision but I think it cuts out Oliviera, Chandler, Gaethje and Tony who are all probably think they're a fight or two away from a title if not less. But hey, this could be a huge PPV for the UFC.

Trilogy with Volka..if Volka wants it.

Btw what do you mean a trilogy has never really happened?

I might be a bit biased against Gaethje. But I've always been very down on fighters who on the big stage, does what he did and capitulates like that.

Even if we just say Khabib is that good. He looked more like Jon Fitch than any of Hardy, Condit, Hendricks etc. who showed more heart even in convincing Ls against GSP. (minus Hendricks who I still think deserved the nod)

But you're right, it certainly cuts out Oliveira. Chandler still has at least 1 top 5 fight to go.

While Tony, in my opinion, is a non factor. There's always that wish as fight fans that Tony-Khabib would happen. But Tony bit b2b losses. He's out of the picture imo.

But if they did put up Dustin v. Max for the strap. They could do Chandler v Oliveira to fight the winner. Which could continue to build those guys and ride their waves.

The second Volka fight was damn close.

I had Holloway winning, as many others did.
