Jon "Bones" Jones vs. Prime Bas Rutten @ 205lbs. Who wins? Vote!

Who wins between these two beasts. I think El Guapo kicks his ass. Jones's stand up ain't got nothin' on Bas.

What do you guys think. Break it down and vote.

This is clearly the worse era in MMA as all the good fighters are playing soccer.

lol are people voting seriously? Bas's boxing is not as good as Gustafsson, and we saw that Gus wasn't able to take Jones out.

That's not even the issue here. Bas had weak TDD and cut easily. Rewatch that atrocious Randleman fight, imagine Jones landing huge elbows over and over. Jones by TKO within 3.

I see the point you're trying to make. But, Kevin Randleman's wrestling pedigree ****s on Jones. Then again, we're comparing two different breeds of wrestlers here. Jones may very well win it, but, I'm going with Bas.

Now, you're comparing Gustafsson to Bas, lol. Gustafsson's power ain't got nothin on Bas.

If it stays standing I'd favor Bas too, but it wouldn't stay standing. And even then, Jones' reach & eye poke advantage coupled with the combination of Bas' weak knees and Jones' accurate knees kicks, I still have a hard time favoring him.

It's really difficult to predict these types of match ups because MMA was at it's infancy during Bas' era, so Jones would have so much more of an advantage due to the developments in the sport now as compared to back then. Developments in dieting, making weight, etc would mean that Bas Rutten's prime fighting weight wouldn't even be in Jones' division.

However if guys like Bas were around fighting today they would be alot better than the current crop of very average fighters because guys like Bas had a dedication & will to win beyond the mediocrity we see today.

John Jones is a beast, no matter what and it's a pleasure watching someone so skilled, with the sheer will to succeed in today's version of MMA.
