Or maybe you are attempting to give too much credit Weidman? Everyone saw Silva handed his head to Weidman on a platter. It is a good win for Wiedman, but stop acting like he was doing anything special. People here are mostly speculating based on Silva's weird post fight interview that had him sounding like he wasn't mentally there. No one is taking anything away from Weidman, because everyone saw the fight or the lack thereof.

Silva said in the post-fight interview that he doesn't want a rematch. If I heard him correctly, he intends to complete his contract but has no interest in defending a title.

In my opinion, this was an embarrassing night for MMA.

It's one thing for an older champion to give it his all, come up short against a younger, up-and-coming opponent and introspectively raise the question of whether he can or should continue fighting. It's a completely different thing for the guy considered to be the best in the sport to taunt his opponent excessively, get KTFO and with little emotion state clearly immediately after the fight that he has no interest in fighting for a title.
