Cool Article on Nick Diaz's boxing style...

Pretty decent find.
The guy might be reaching just a little bit with his comparison, but it doesn't take much away from the article.

Someone once said, "the only thing Diaz has going for him is his reach!"
I'm sorry, but isn't that the whole frik'n point!
There are a whole lot of fighters, including professional boxers who don't know how to use their reach advantage to their advantage and that's what makes Diaz so special.
I'd like to see how he fairs up against GSP or Anderson Silva.

He'd get KO'd be Silva. GSP is another story.

GSP's a lot more agile than an out of shape BJ Penn. Plus, he knows how to mix up his attacks and feint his way in.
He could do things like, front low kick, feint front low kick then throw a straight right. He's agile enough to pull off combo's like that, but with speed and accuracy to make it effective.
GSP isn't passive, everything he does has a purpose.
Diaz on the other hand has a funny way of pawing his jabs or just leaving his hands out there sometimes which makes him susceptible to getting countered.
If Diaz makes a commitment to stay in shape, I think his chances of defeating GSP would increase dramatically however because he's going to be taking A LOT of shots, so he'd better be able to endure that huge accumulation of shots that come from just about every angle possible.

True. I didn't mean GSP is another story as if Nick would own him. I meant, Diaz has a better chance to beat GSP than he does Silva.
Anderson would completely own Nick.
GSP, I think is more work, it won't be too easy. Mainly because GSP is weak to the jab. He doesn't avoid them too well and swells up crazy when hit by a good jab. But I think GSP will utilize the wrestling and dominant positioning to tire out Nick. Once that happens, I think we will see GSP's stand up game in full effect.
I hope he uses the lead switch head kick and the leg kicks(like you said). One of the things I have always liked about GSP was his kyokushin base and his kicks are perfect examples of the style. lol
Plus. Nick is weak against leg kicks. It's the weakness to his stand up game.
