I personally don't like Anderson and I'm not a huge fan of GSP either although I respect their skills and enjoy watching both of them compete.

But I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that GSP has surpassed Anderson as #1 P4P, a spot which I previously reserved for Anderson.

But after yet another dominant win, I don't think there is much dispute that GSP is P4P better.

Anderson may have more finishes and wins in a row but that's pretty much all he has and I don't see how you can qualify only those as leverage for P4P.

The level of competition Georges is facing and how handily he's beating them is unparalleled. He's cleaned out his division twice or if you think Shields is the only guy left than he's pretty damn close to cleaning it out a second time. And this is one of the deepest divisions in MMA talent wise.

Anderson, while continually winning has not been doing so the way Georges has. Every fight he's been in he's given up rounds, exposed and made to look vulnerable in several facets of MMA.

Not only that but he has yet to beat very many fighters in the UFC that have even been able to hold their place on the roster, and a couple cans.

So as of right now, Georges is #1, IMO.

I agree.

GSP has been on a roll and Silva's last two performances were horrible. And lets not forget that before the Griffin match, the Leitas fight was one of his worse, if not the worst performance he's ever had and the Cote fight was pretty lackluster as well.

Silva has the longer win streak and title reign, but GSP has not only faced tougher competition within the past 3 years, but he really hasn't lost a round since getting beat by Serra.

GSP is not the best finisher, but exciting or not, he hasn't shown any holes in his game as of late.

And Anderson has been beaten by less than Gatekeepers as well. Matt Serra is a gatekeeper. Daiju Takase and Ryo Chonan are bums.


But the reality is, that GSP's loss to Serra is just as relevant at this point in time, as Anderson's losses to some Japanese tomato cans.

And that is, not relevant at all.

Do you honestly think GSP is anywhere close to the same fighter he was when he lost to Serra? The GSP that fought last weekend would **** the **** out of that guy

The only reasoning for having Anderson at #1 is him having wins in different weight classes. I agree though that GSP is #1 now and has cleared his entire division with little or no resistance. You can't say the same for Anderson...
