    Question For MMA Fans

We argue over which is the superior sport and blahzay blah, but which 1 makes for the more exciting fights/action?

I believe that boxing on it's best day completely ****s on every other sport, including MMA. 2010 has been a slow year thus far, but I cvan still find 5 fights that contain sustained action and ebb & flow that can't be matched.

I will post the top 5 boxing fights this year thus far(watch them in its entirety if you haven't), post your top 5 MMA fights, we're going to see who has the more excitement (at least for 2010 so far).

    1 - Escalante-Roman

    2 - Calderon-Segura

    3 - Lopez-Concepcion

    4 - Mares-Perez

    5 - Kessler-Froch

    (Honorable mention to Adamek-Arreola, Cloud-Johnson, Vazquez-Bedak, Viloria-Tamara, Katsidis-Murray, Martinez-Munguia, Alexander-Kotelnik, Cazares-Nashiro II)

    Can MMA's 2010 matchup?

It's a matter of taste and opinion chief, just like music or movies....

I find the best boxing fights more entertaining than the best MMA fights, but as has already been stated it's just a matter of taste. I thought Kessler-Froch was quite a bit better than Lopez-Concepcion, for example, but it's just a matter of preference.

I like both, only because I like fighting.

Yeah, I had Kessler-Froch above it, but since Lopez-Concepcion was shorter, but had tons of punches thrown, I put it past it. The honorable mentions maybe some other fights I haven't seen or forgot about, could be interchangeable with the last 3.

I'm trolling a bit, but I'm trying to prove a point. People can knock boxing all they want because of it's structure and politics of it, but brings the best quality by far.

Everyone loves to watch painful impact knockouts.

Nobody loves boring bottom line results.

You know this. Hell that's why most prefer stand up boxing.

And you'll never be a troll lol.

what part of "It's a matter of taste and opinion chief, just like music or movies..." you didn't understand?

Probably most people on this site are fans of boxing first and mma second, thus most people on this board will always prefer a "8.0/10 boxing fight" over a "9.0/10 mma fight".

But that doesn't mean boxing is more entertaining than mma, as kaps said, it's a matter of taste... You can't even prove that boxing is more entertaining than curling... If you go to a curling fan-site (is there any? lol) they probably would answer: curling is more exciting than boxing! and you'll have to agree to disagree.

                  My taste?

                  as a spectator:

                  MMA > K-1 > Boxing > BJJ

                  as a practitioner:

BJJ > MMA > Muay Thai > Boxing

K-1 was at the top of my list 5 years ago but sadly it's declining...

I think it's pretty even for me. I appreciate boxing technique better since I can't stand Gray Maynard type fights where he just lays on the guy for 5 rounds. I respect the wrestling skills but don't like the LNP. Chael Sonnen vs Silva IMO was an epic fight since Chael had some nasty GNP.

I love the slams in MMA though. I love the submission aspect but in both I love the straight right hand and body punches. I like em both the same so it really depends on what 2 fights you pick for me to choose between.
